SFU Beedie professor wins prestigious award

SFU Beedie professor Rosalie Tung has been awarded the John H. Dunning Academy of International Business (AIB) President’s Award.

SFU Beedie professor Rosalie Tung has been awarded the John H. Dunning Academy of International Business (AIB) President’s Award, in recognition of her outstanding service to the AIB and the field of international business. The AIB is the leading professional association of academics in international business around the world, representing the world’s top researchers and universities.

Professor Tung was selected in recognition of her distinguished service to the AIB as both President (2015 – 2016) and Dean of Fellows (2017 – 2020). She is also one of only 20 scholars worldwide to be awarded the Gold Medal for Scholarship for their outstanding contributions to the AIB’s Journal of International Business Studies – the premier journal for research on international business.

“I am delighted to be selected for the John Dunning Award,” says Tung. “I would like to thank all my colleagues at the AIB for their support, and I want them to know that I appreciate all the hard work we have done together. This is truly an honour.”

Dr. Tung has been the Ming & Stella Wong Professor of International Business at SFU since 1991. She is the author or editor of 11 books, and has published widely on subjects including international management and organizational theory. Her research has been cited in leading national and international publications including the International Herald Tribune, The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Christian Science Monitor, and East Asian Executive Reports.
