May 02, 2018
SFU’s Beedie School of Business was once again well represented at the Surrey Board of Trade’s annual Top 25 Under 25 Awards for 2018, with six SFU Beedie students or alumni appearing in the list as well as two further students who have taken interdisciplinary programs at the school.
The award winners were honoured at an event celebrating remarkable initiatives taken by young people in Surrey, who are 25 years of age or younger. The 25 winners were chosen based upon their business or community achievements, leadership ability, community involvement, professional achievements and uniqueness of their business or community projects.
The Beedie students and alumni named in the list were:
- Cody de Leijer
- Stefanie Huffman
- Harleen Jagpal
- John Nguyen
- Chirag Patel
- Tony Jure Vukasovic
In addition to these SFU Beedie students, the list of honorees included SFU students Larissa Chen, who participated in the interdisciplinary Health Change Lab program in 2016 and the RADIUS Fellowship in 2018, and Dorothy Ng, who took the Environment Change Lab program in 2015 and is enrolled in the Charles Chang Certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
“It is an incredible honour and truly humbling to receive this award amongst countless qualified individuals,” says Cody de Leijer, a BBA candidate at SFU Beedie and president of Enactus SFU.
“This award is the collective result of every Enactus SFU member and my personal success would not be possible without them. I cannot express enough gratitude for their dedication to making this world a better place for all.”
