The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University has welcomed several new board members representing globally renowned organizations to its Business Technology Management (BTM) Advisory Board.
The BTM program is an accredited certificate program that provides students with the skills necessary to effectively implement technological changes within an organization. It blends MIS and business courses in design, innovation, project management and leadership to provide students with the knowledge and ability to understand how technology works, and the business processes behind it.
“We are pleased to have assembled a new Board with a broad diversity representing various industry sectors and market segments,” said Nelson Lah, Chair of the BTM Advisory Board. “The variety and composition of skills these new members bring will further enrich the SFU BTM program.”
The list of new board members includes BTM graduate Carlos Leal, Associate at Ernst and Young; Simon Stanlake, Chief Technology Officer at HootSuite; Tim Botham, Vice-President of Strategic Development at MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates; and Lloyd Bauer, Chief Information Officer at Translink.
In addition, several supporting member organizations have added replacement board members to lend their expertise to the Advisory Board. These include Kip Morison, Chief Technology Officer at BC Hydro; Mark McDonald, Chief Information Officer at the City of Vancouver; Fernand Wong, Head of Global Architecture Management and Quality at HSBC; Willie Waung, Senior Director of Intellectual Property at Sierra Wireless; and Andrew Soh, Manager of Information Systems at Telus.
“Our new and dynamic Advisory Board will be instrumental in sustaining relevance and outreach for the BTM program,” said Dianne Cyr, Academic Director of the BTM program. “We look forward to our continued relationship with former members, and warmly welcome the new board members to the group.
