Beedie School maintains AACSB accreditation

The Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University is pleased to announce that it has maintained its accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for a period of five years. The business school, with campuses in Burnaby, Surrey and downtown Vancouver, is home to Canada’s first Executive MBA program and one of Canada’s largest undergraduate programs. It was first accredited by AACSB in 2006. Since that time, it has continued to grow its reputation as one of the country’s leading teaching and learning settings, and for producing global-class research for the knowledge economy.

A team of students from the full-time MBA program at the Beedie School of Business was the big winner at the recent Vancouver for Acumen Fund Case Challenge. MBA student teams dominate at the Haskayne 24 Hour Case Competition

MBA students from SFU’s Beedie School of Business made up two of the four teams who placed at the recent Haskayne 24 Hour Case Competition. This year’s competition was held at the Haskayne School of Business, University of Calgary from March 8-11 and featured 16 teams from MBA programs at universities from across the nation. Management of Technology MBA grads’ company awarded contract with NASA

A company formed by two graduates of the Beedie School of Business Management of Technology MBA program has been awarded a contract to deliver a pilot water recovery unit to NASA. Saltworks Technologies will develop the unit to test the water recovery systems and processes at NASA Ames Research Center, with the intent for future use on board the International Space Station. A new mobile phone platform co-created by a Simon Fraser University MBA alumna is helping health organizations use their resources more efficiently. Texts 4 Health can also help health care professionals provide better care. Patients respond to automated text messages that are automatically categorized by the software and analytics platform, increasing efficiency in hospitals and clinics and allowing for greater patient load. The technology recently won first place at SFU Venture Connection’s inaugural Coast Capital Savings Venture Prize competition.
