As we aim for a future with more women leaders in business, are we trying to fit an existing mold instead of creating new model that fit us all? “It’s important to say: This is not prescriptive for women. It is for everyone. There are as many ways to be a leader in business as there are leaders in business.”
Early this month in a study in Philadelphia, a man and woman switched their email signatures for a week at work. She had a positive reception and he was inundated with untrusting and rude comments from clients!
This year’s MBA female registration rate is 52% – more than 15% higher than the average for AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business)-accredited business schools. Over the past five years, Beedie’s MBA had higher than average female registration: women generally made up 40% of the program’s composition. However, 2014 was a milestone year – the very first where female students outnumbered men.
