SFU’s Beedie School of Business is proud to announce that faculty member Andrew Harries has been inducted into the 2023 BC Tech Innovators Hall of Fame. This honour comes as BC Tech celebrates its 30th anniversary, and the Innovators Hall of Fame is a joint initiative with the Government of British Columbia to recognize outstanding leaders in the tech industry who have left a lasting impact on the province.

Andrew Harries has a remarkable track record in the tech sector. As a co-founder of Sierra Wireless in 1993, he played a pivotal role in growing the multinational wireless communications equipment designer from its inception through public listings on both the TSX and Nasdaq, achieving annual revenues of over $200 million USD. His entrepreneurial journey and success story have been an inspiration to aspiring tech entrepreneurs across the region.

Currently, Harries is the Tom Foord Professor of Practice in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at SFU Beedie. In this role, he imparts his extensive expertise in entrepreneurship and innovation, product management, and resourcing new venture programs to students, shaping the next generation of tech leaders in B.C. and across Canada.

SFU Beedie celebrates this momentous achievement and we extend our heartfelt congratulations to Andrew Harries and all the inductees for their exceptional contributions to the growth and advancement of the tech industry in B.C. Innovation is one of SFU Beedie’s core pillars, and Harries’s induction into the BC Tech Innovators Hall of Fame exemplifies our school’s commitment to fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and creativity.
