June Francis, professor of marketing at SFU’s Beedie School of Business, has been selected to lead B.C.’s new anti-racism data committee, signalling another major stride in her efforts to advocate for anti-racism in British Columbia and make the province a more inclusive place. A new city project hopes to reclaim some of the hope that was lost when city planning in the early 70s led to the displacement and erasure of Hogan’s Alley, Vancouver’s historic Black neighbourhood. The Vancouver Economic Commission (VEC) and Simon Fraser University’s Beedie School of Business (SFU Beedie) today launched the Economic Transformation Lab (ETL), a platform for collaboration between industry and academia that researches the seismic trends anticipated to impact Vancouver’s economy in the coming decades. Beedie professor elected to Vancouver School Board

Judy Zaichkowsky, University Professor of Marketing at SFU’s Beedie School of Business, has won election to the Vancouver School Board. Zaichkowsky, representing the Green Party, secured a seat on the nine-strong board at Vancouver’s byelection on October 14, 2017, after receiving the second highest number of votes among the 19 candidates.
