A new Canadian institute that will assist developing countries with resource driven economies benefit from their resources in environmentally and socially responsible ways has been officially launched. The Canadian International Institute for Extractive Industries and Development (CIIEID) is a coalition between the University of British Columbia (UBC), Simon Fraser University (SFU), and École Polytechnique de Montréal (EPM).
