China Goes Global

On January 17, 2011, the Centre hosted and co-sponsored the “China Goes Global” event in partnership with Asia Pacific Foundation. The event consisted of two parts: the Asia Pacific Foundation released the 2010 survey report on Chinese companies’ outward foreign direct investment intentions. The survey indicated that Chinese private enterprises are looking for investment opportunities in Canada’s manufacturing sector. The second part of the event focused on the current state of research and gaps in our understanding of foreign direct investment climate in Canada, particularly in the context of China-Canada relations. The event was attended by key stakeholders, including the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Vancouver.
