Why did you decide to pursue a Master of Science in Finance and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
My pursuit of an MSC in Finance is fueled by a deep-seated fascination with finance and a commitment to deepening my understanding of the field. A master's degree is pivotal for me to break into this dynamic field and to hone the analytical, quantitative, and intellectual skills crucial for a successful career. The Master of Science in Finance program at the SFU Beedie School of Business particularly caught my attention due to its prestigious standing and its curriculum that resonates with my interests, particularly the Student Investment Advisory Service (SIAS) Fund team, that offers a chance to apply theoretical knowledge in a real-world context, ensuring the acquisition of vital corporate skills. I am eager to immerse myself in all aspects of the financial sector and am confident that this master's program will equip me with the skills necessary for a thriving career in finance.
What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?
So far, it has been engaging with the diverse and intellectually stimulating community here. The collaborative culture and hands-on learning experiences have been incredibly enriching. I am particularly looking forward to participating in the Student Investment Advisory Service (SIAS) Fund team, as it presents a unique opportunity to apply my financial knowledge in a practical setting, manage real funds, and make impactful decisions. This will not only hone my financial skills but also prepare me for future challenges in the corporate world. I am also excited about the prospect of networking with industry professionals and alumni through Beedie's extensive community, which will be instrumental in shaping my career in finance.
