Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?
Coming from a business family, we faced challenges in resource planning, operations optimization, and management complexity, hindering the growth of individual business segments. This led me to pursue an MBA to gain the skills and exposure needed to address these challenges in my professional life.
I chose Beedie for its well-aligned courses, exceptional faculty encouraging student participation, and its downtown Vancouver location providing extensive networking opportunities. After engaging with Ambassadors, recruitment, and the Career Management Centre, I recognized Beedie's supportive and nurturing environment, confirming it as the ideal place for my MBA journey.
What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?
My Beedie experience has been incredible, marked by a highly engaging community. Beyond academic learning, professors foster participation and critical thinking, refining my analytical, communication, and presentation skills through case experiences. I eagerly anticipate leveraging networking opportunities and collaborating with the Career Management Centre to develop soft skills for post-MBA life.
How would you describe SFU Beedie’s culture?
SFU Beedie champions a multicultural environment, actively engaging all ethnicities. Our curriculum began with a JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) workshop, highlighting Beedie's core values. Classroom interactions with diverse backgrounds and involvement in co-curricular activities, such as the JEDI club and Graduate Women’s Council, position Beedie as a leader in embracing an inclusive and diverse culture.
