Why did you decide to pursue an MBA and what drew you to the SFU Beedie School of Business?

Hailing from a business family, I've witnessed my father's relentless efforts in building a business from the ground up, inspiring my own aspirations to manage a business in the long run. My experience as an IT Analyst equipped me with technical, interpersonal, and organizational skills, but I sought a solid business acumen to bridge the IT-management gap.

Opting for an MBA was a natural choice, providing avenues for career enhancement, networking, and a global perspective. SFU's prime downtown Vancouver location, dual accreditation, and a well-rounded curriculum make it a top choice. The experiential learning approach and valuable career guidance resources, such as the Career Consulting Team and workshops, further solidified my decision.

What has been your favourite moment or experience at Beedie so far? What are you looking forward to?

Every day at Beedie brings new learning opportunities. Despite initial intimidation with business concepts due to my IT background, faculty expertise and support have facilitated a smooth transition, making subjects like Accounting and Finance more accessible. Engaging in co-curricular activities enhances hands-on learning, and I actively participate to enrich my educational experience. I'm eagerly anticipating involvement in the BC MBA games and the International Applied Project, considering them invaluable opportunities to apply my learning in real-world scenarios.
