Lazaridis International Case Competition (LAZICC)

At the sixth annual Lazaridis International Case Conference, you will compete in two live cases, network with various organizations and experience locals nearby sites in Niagara Falls and Waterloo.

Application Deadline: June 20, 2022 at 11:59pm(PST)

Applications are open for 4 spots on the LazICC 2022 SFU Team for undergraduate students interested in competing. LazICC will be held in Waterloo, Ontario between October 9 and October 15, 2022. If you are selected as part of this team, you are required to be available to travel between October 7-17, 2022.

Expected Training Dates: July 7 to October 9, 2022
Total Training Hours:

  • 6-10 hours per week for most weeks with a 5 hour case and 1-2 training sessions in person (actual time will vary during the training period).
  • There will be several weeks where the team practices a 24-hour case deliberation which will require up to 30 hours on these select weeks


Requirements:
- 60 credits by the end of the Spring 2022 semester

Do not worry if you have never competed. The coach is primarily interested in your logical thought process, your ability to craft a compelling argument, your presentation skills, your competitive spirit, and your personal growth and development mindset.

Deadline for applications is 11:59pm on June 20, 2022

Selection Process:

  1. All applicants will be invited to complete a case deliberation and a 5-minute presentation
  2. The case will be sent out to applicants on June 21st at 12:00pm(PST)
  3. Students will have from June 21-27th to analyze their case and submit their presentation slide deck.
  4. The coach will contact students to set up an in-person time for them to give their 5-minute case presentation and do a 5-minute Q&A with the coach, presentations will take place between June 28-July 8
  5. If your business case is successful, and the coach determines that you are a good fit for the team, then you will be offered one of four spots on the team.
