“I wholeheartedly encourage my fellow alumni to get involved and give back to SFU Beedie. It's not just about supporting students in their academic and professional pursuits; it's an opportunity for personal self-growth while inspiring others to achieve their goals.”
Why I volunteer with SFU Beedie
Volunteering has always been the cornerstone of my life philosophy. However, my most cherished experiences stem from my time as a volunteer at Simon Fraser University.
Volunteering with SFU Beedie is my way of giving back to a school that played a pivotal role in my personal and professional development. Moreover, it's an opportunity for me to honour the mentors and peers who supported and inspired me during my own journey as a student, by paying it forward.
One standout alumni inspired me to push my boundaries and realize my full potential. As my mentor, he consistently supported me, guiding me to become an engaged student. His encouragement and belief in my abilities have been instrumental in shaping my academic and personal growth.
Beyond the act of giving, volunteering allows me to contribute meaningfully to the growth and success of current students.

The rewards of volunteering
Volunteering is not merely a one-way street; through these interactions, I continuously learn from the students I engage with. Witnessing their achievements, both academically and professionally, fills me with a contagious energy.
One particularly memorable experience involved assisting a recent graduate in refining their resume, cover letter, and interview skills. Witnessing their journey from initial struggles to landing their dream job was incredibly rewarding.
Volunteering with SFU Beedie exposes you to new business trends and developments while being part of a network of inspiring individuals dedicated to collective success.
What it means to be part of the SFU Beedie alumni community
To me, being part of the SFU Beedie alumni community is like being embraced by a supportive family, united in our mission to inspire the next generation of business leaders. It's more than just a network; it's a deep connection that fosters collaboration, growth, and a shared commitment to excellence.
It's a privilege to inspire and be inspired by the remarkable individuals within this community. Together, we empower each other to reach new heights and make a meaningful impact in the world of business.
I extend an invitation to my fellow alumni to join SFU Beedie programs in making a meaningful impact and forging connections that last a lifetime.
