“I made sure to get involved in the SFU Beedie community. I saw it as a great opportunity to build both personal and professional relationships, make a positive impact and develop my leadership skills.”
MY JOURNEY
I have chosen to pursue a degree in Business Administration at SFU Beedie because I have a great interest in how the world operates through the interaction of people and money. I selected SFU Beedie because of its amazing reviews as well as national and even global presence amongst top business schools. I was also intrigued by SFU Beedie’s variety of extracurricular opportunities, as I knew going into university that I wanted to make the most out of my experience.
I have a huge passion for cars, on which I have built a successful business model. I source good deals, and re-sell each vehicle for a profit. This hobby stoked a passion for sales through deal execution, creating an interest in pursuing corporate mergers and acquisitions as a career.
MY SFU BEEDIE EXPERIENCE
I have three years’ experience in banking and during that time I also completed an eight-month co-op internship in Financial Planning & Analysis and Accounts Payable departments. I primarily supported year end fiscal reporting and building daily and weekly liquidity reports. This experience taught me some fantastic hands-on skills and expanded my professional network.
I’ve learned things in my degree that I’ve been able to apply in my workplace. In particular, after taking BUS360W, my skills in business writing have improved for better professional and efficient communication across all platforms.
A highlight from my experience so far at SFU Beedie certainly has been the meaningful friendships I have made along the way. The beginning of my degree was difficult, as my entire first year was held online. Entering second year, I was worried about making friends, but through attending multiple club events I made friends much easier than I expected. Being involved in clubs, such as Business Administration Student Society (BASS) and SFU Real Estate Club, has not only expanded my network inside and outside SFU Beedie, but also my skills and knowledge.

Following graduation, I want to begin working towards a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
