Biography

Dr. Jon Thomas is the BC Regional Innovation Chair in Canada-India Partnership Development at the University of the Fraser Valley. He is also  a Visiting Associate Professor at SFU's Beedie School of Business. Dr. Thomas is particularly interested in guiding scientists and engineers in their efforts to commercialize their inventions for the benefit of society. He teaches in the Invention to Innovation (i2I) program at Beedie and has also taught Managing Technological Innovation in the Management of Technology (MOT) MBA program. His research on various aspects of innovation, entrepreneurship, and science commercialization, has been published in Nature Nanotechnology, Journal of Engineering & Technology Management, Journal of Cleaner Production, Scientometrics, International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Small Business, and World Patent Information.
