Employer support

Many students are financially sponsored, in full or in part, by their employers so we encourage you to review how your company will benefit from your knowledge and skills gained in the program. We provide a brief overview of the benefits and necessities for employer support; reach out to us if you would like assistance in putting together a case for sponsorship.

Scholarships

Qualifying students may be eligible for university-wide graduate scholarships. Visit the Graduate Awards Database for a complete listing and terms of reference. Please note that there is no need to apply for individual scholarships as ALL admitted students are automatically considered for all available scholarships. If you receive an offer of admission into the program you will be notified if you have been awarded a scholarship at the same time. Decisions are made by the Admissions Committee on a holistic basis taking into account the overall strength of your application in conjunction with scholarship eligibility criteria.

Financial Aid

Need-based funding, in the form of bursaries, is available from the university for students with demonstrated financial need. Government-issued student financial assistance for Canadian and U.S. students is also available for some SFU graduate programs. Learn more about eligibility criteria for various funding opportunities, what programs may be excluded from government-issued student financial assistance, and whom to contact if you have any further questions.

International Students

International students should arrange for financial assistance through institutions in their home country before coming to Canada, as they are not eligible to apply for the Federal and Provincial Student Loan Programs or loans through Canadian financial institutions. International students are eligible for all available scholarships offered by SFU Beedie School of Business. Scholarship eligibility will be assessed at the time their application is reviewed, so there is no need to submit a separate application. Visit the Graduate Awards Database for a complete listing and terms of reference.

In addition, a number of external organizations also offer scholarships and loans to international students to study in Canada, so we encourage international students to research all options that may be available to them. Although the list is not exhaustive, we have compiled some examples below. SFU Beedie School of Business does not guarantee, co-sign, or endorse any of these specific programs of funding.

Please note that SFU Beedie does not guarantee, co-sign, or endorse any of these specific programs of funding.

If you’ve been successful in taking out an educational loan with, or receiving a scholarship from any other organization or financial institution, please let your department know so we can update this list for future students.
