Biography

Yasheng Chen joined the Beedie School of Business at SFU in January 2005 from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario where he recently earned his PhD in accounting. His research interests include international tax management, performance measurement and incentive plan design, managerial accounting issues in multinational enterprises and international accounting.

Originally from China, Chen plans to stay in Canada where he appreciates the rigour and variety of research methodologies. He was attracted to the Beedie School of Business at SFU, he says, because of its research flexibility and its large international business department.

Outside of academia, Chen enjoys playing table tennis and badminton.
