Career Enhancement

Support for your career

Whether you’re looking for a career change, want to progress your career faster, or are open to any and all opportunities, the SFU Beedie Career Management Centre (CMC) is here to help.

Throughout the program—and after graduation—you’ll enjoy opportunities to build your network, explore your career options and improve your job-searching skills.

A step-by-step approach

The Career Management Program takes students through a process of self-evaluation, reflection and planning. The objective is to assess the skills, interests and aptitudes that can be leveraged into new positions and new responsibilities.

Personalized career services

During the program, and after graduation, we provide personalized support and useful resources and tools, as well as helping you develop and hone the job seeking skills you’ll need to advance in your career. We can also connect you to extensive job postings and provide job search strategies.

Workshops and coaching

Through workshops and one-on-one coaching, we will walk you through the entire job search process. We’ll start by providing you with self-assessment tools and then show you how to map out future possibilities and tap into the hidden job market. Specific workshops and coaching include:

  • How to build and communicate your personal brand
  • Resume coaching
  • Interview techniques
  • Salary negotiating

Mentorship and networking

SFU Beedie has the largest business mentorship program in Western Canada, with over 300 mentors available every year to help you expand your network and uncover opportunities. You can also tap into our vast and engaged alumni network to help you land your ideal position. We organize many events throughout the year to give you opportunities to meet influential people.
